MEGAN

_____

‘With this Album, I wanted to show people my personal interests and thoughts. I wanted to touch on my love for all things Anime, all things Southern, how much I like to have fun, and I wanted to be myself. I feel like I did that. A lot of people were expecting me to come on this Album talking one way and I wanted to introduce myself – this version of myself as I am right now. Sometimes people listen to me with ears of “I don’t like her, so I don't want to like it”. The more people sit with this Album, the more and more they're like “Okay, you know what? This sh*t is banging!”.

One of the most notable successes from ‘MEGAN’ is ‘Mamushi’ Feat. Yuki Chiba. The song charted for a total of 20 Weeks on Billboard Hot 100, currently stands at 244M+ Spotify streams and proved to be a globally-trending, organic hit. A dominator of the U.S. Rhythmic Radio and the Digital Songs Sales Chart, an internationally-known viral dance (created by ‘Mona712_official’ on TikTok) and catchy bars – ‘Mamushi’ marked Yuki Chiba’s first-ever Top 40 entry onto the Billboard 100, subsequently earning his first RIAA Certification. This beautiful intercultural exchange has captured the attention of audiences everywhere, with Megan Thee Stallion being praised for her creative vision, honour, respect and depiction of Ancient Japanese folklore and culture. Megan has since collaborated with RM of BTS for ‘Neva Play’ (released with the ‘ACT II’ Deluxe), which debuted as the highest-selling song in the world upon release and was used as the theme song for ‘WWE Smackdown’.

A Wordsmith. A Writer. A real, ground-roots Southern Rapper and Freestyler, Megan Thee Stallion continued to wow listeners with her masterclass bars, smart entendres and catchy one-liners across both ‘ACT I’ and ‘ACT II’. ‘HISS’ started the discourse. ‘Rattle’, ‘Figueroa’, ‘BOA’, ‘Bigger In Texas’, ‘Bourbon’ and ‘Right Now’ contain some of the most widely used and promoted bars amongst the Hotties. ‘Otaku Hot Girl’, a song featuring carefully constructed bars from the hit Anime ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ and the well-known line spoken by Yuji Itadori’s English Voice Actor, James McArthur, has taken Anime and Gaming Communities by storm. ‘Paper Together’ blessed us with an unreleased verse from one of Megan’s Rap idols, Pimp C of UGK, alongside one of Megan’s best verses on the Album. ‘Bigger In Texas’ instantly became one of Megan’s classics, a trademark Houstonian sound – starring some of Texas’ most legendary Rappers. ‘Worthy’, ‘Moody Girl’ and ‘Cobra’ are widely praised for Megan’s vulnerability and ability to navigate sensitive Mental Health topics in her music. Bar after bar, Megan Thee Stallion continues to showcase why her music remains at the centre of Hip-Hop/Rap conversations.

As ‘MEGAN’ enters its 33rd Week charting on Billboard 200, please continue supporting the Album through streams and purchasing. Can Hotties out-chart ‘FEVER’ (35 Weeks) or ‘SUGA’ (37 Weeks)? Let’s keep pushing and find out.
